Google backs Swedish green-steel project to tackle rising emissions

Stockholm-based Stegra will make green steel via hydrogen-fired direct reduced iron to offset emissions for Google’s data centre construction, following Microsoft's “environmental attribute certificate” plan to increase development cash flow. Iron and steel produce 9% of anthropogenic global warming, while green hydrogen reduces emissions by 95%.
